The eye clinic consists of fitting used eyeglasses,
brought down in one of the duffle bags, to people with vision problems. Sometimes
fashion becomes more important to the patient than good vision so the Eye
Clinic Team must quickly learn how to overcome that problem. In 2004 one of the
Villanueva children, an twelve year old named Walter, helped the team learn a little Honduran psychology in
dealing with the fashion problem. Walter is one of the fortunate Villanueva
children who is sponsored to attend St. Mary’s Episcopal School in
Tegucigalpa.
He speaks fluent English and is very intelligent – he will be a doctor some
day. Walter is in the white shirt in the
